Where Are You From?
I grew up in Ames, IA and have lived there most of my adult life. Our family just relocated to Iowa City a few years ago so my husband could work at Veritas Church in Tiffin. Although we are loyal Cyclone fans, we also cheer for the Hawkeyes (when they aren’t playing against ISU!)
Where Did You Go to College?
I graduated in 2009 from Iowa State University (Go, Cyclones!) with a degree in Elementary Education.
Family:
My husband, Shane, and I have been married for 14 years. We have three children, one grandchild, and a loyal golden retriever named Penny. Two of our younger children are scholars at Faith Academy. We are so grateful to the shepherding they receive from their amazing teachers and staff here! We also do foster care, so we sometimes have additional kiddos with our crew. We have seen God do wondrous works in the lives of the children and parents we have met in our foster care family ministry.
Hobbies:
I love to cook and try new crafts when I have spare time. I’ve also gotten into playing Pickleball! My family loves to travel and camp in our teardrop camper. This past summer we made a trip to Estes Park, CO; Duluth, MN and also Mackinac Island. I enjoy time to recharge with a good cup of coffee or a walk in our neighborhood, but I think these things are even more enjoyable if it is shared with a friend!

Donate To Our Class
We are so thankful for your partnership with our 3rd grade scholars! Unlike other private Christian schools that are tuition-based, Faith Academy is a fundraised-based Christian school that makes it possible for all families to be able to give their child an excellent Christian education. We seeking to raise $165,000 to fully fund our 3rd grade class. We are seeking 33 partners to provide $5000 a year ($416.67 a month/$13.89 a day) to help us continue our mission to form servant leaders who transform the world around them through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As a partner you will be invited to classroom events and field trips, including a classroom partner day. Additionally, you will receive a 3rd grade class quarterly newsletter sharing highlights, updates, prayer requests, opportunities to volunteer, and more. Lastly, you will know that your investment is advancing Christ’s Kingdom now, and for generations to come as no other ministry in our city is able to have 6 hours a day of formative, Christ-centered education with scholars who may not otherwise be exposed to the gospel of Jesus Chris
