6-8th Grade Science/Health Classroom

Meet Mr. Hamilton!

Get to know Mr. Hamilton through the questions below!

1. I initially heard about Faith Academy when my sister Jacinta (current 2nd grade teacher) was student-teaching at Faith two years ago!

2. The reason I wanted to work at Faith, is because of its mission of forming servant leaders who spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s a beautiful opportunity to share Christ with the scholars as well as grow in my own faith. The joy that the scholars and staff exhibit at Faith was evident to me from the first time I visited the school. It is a blessing to be able to teach at a school that focuses on the development of the whole human person through the lens of the Bible and Christian tradition.

3. One of my favorite daily activities at Faith is that I really enjoy Bible class with my scholars. It is really nice at the end of the day to be able to turn to God’s word with them and reflect on His plan for each one of us.

4. My prayer for my scholars is that each of them finds their identity and purpose in Christ through our study of the world and science. I also pray that they will continue to radiate the Light of Christ to fellow scholars, staff, and everyone else in our community.

5. When I’m not at Faith, I enjoy watching live sporting events, reading, and spending time with family.

6. My favorite restaurant is Encounter Cafe in Iowa City—I am a big fan of their omelets 🙂

7. Something people might not know about me is that, in college, I played quarterback and tight end at an NCAA Division II university. I also have never had Taco Bell.

8. A verse I often revisit is Romans 5:3-5, “More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

We are so thankful for your partnership with our middle school science and social studies scholars!  Unlike other private Christian schools that are tuition-based, Faith Academy is a fundraised-based Christian school that makes it possible for all families to be able to give their child an excellent Christian education.  We seeking to raise $165,000 to fully fund our middle school science and social studies class.  We are seeking 33 partners to provide $5000 a year ($416.67 a month/$13.89 a day) to help us continue our mission to form servant leaders who transform the world around them through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As a partner you will be invited to classroom events and field trips, including a classroom partner day.  Additionally, you will receive a middle school science and social studies class quarterly newsletter sharing highlights, updates, prayer requests, opportunities to volunteer, and more.  Lastly, you will know that your investment is advancing Christ’s Kingdom now, and for generations to come as no other ministry in our city is able to have 6 hours a day of formative, Christ-centered education with scholars who may not otherwise be exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
